Howard "Trey" Martin, MD

Dr. Howard “Trey” Martin held the position of Medical Director at the Ackerman Academy (associated with the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York City) for many years after completing his fellowship in dermatopathology with A. Bernard Ackerman. After departing, he became the Laboratory Director for a national multi-specialty laboratory while focusing his daily practice on dermatopathology. Dr. Martin joined Sagis, PLLC, in 2015, becoming a Partner; he currently serves as the Laboratory Director.
Dr. Martin currently has licenses in twenty-four states. He also holds professional membership in numerous medical societies, including the American Society of Dermatopathology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the College of American Pathologists, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Martin has performed research in varied topics such as spindle cell neoplasms of the skin, mouse models in the study of erythropoietin, and rapid colorimetric testing in toxicology. He is currently working on utilizing genetic mutations for the diagnosis of melanoma. Dr. Martin was a contributing author for the third edition of the widely used Histologic Diagnosis of Inflammatory Skin Diseases, An Algorithmic Method Based on Pattern Analysis with A. Bernard Ackerman as the main author. He has lectured at both national and local professional society meetings, including the American Academy of Dermatology.
