Dr. G. “Dock” Dockery graduated as valedictorian of his class with top honors from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He did a surgical residency in foot and ankle surgery at the Waldo Podiatric Surgical Residency Program in Seattle and graduated with honors. He founded the International Foot & Ankle Foundation for Education and Research and is currently the organization’s Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Scientific Affairs.
Dr. Dockery is a Fellow and Past Board of Directors of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Pediatrics, the American Society of Foot & Ankle Dermatology, and the American College of Podiatric Medicine. He is Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery and is Board Certified in Podiatric Medicine.
Dr. Dockery was the Director of Medical Education and Residency Training of the Waldo Podiatric Surgical Residency Program for many years and still maintains a close relationship with the current Swedish Podiatric Surgical Residency, at Cherry Hill Campus, in Seattle. He has authored several textbooks, including Color Atlas and Text of Forefoot Surgery (Mosby 1992); Cutaneous Disorders of the Lower Extremity (WB Saunders 1997); Color Atlas of Foot & Ankle Dermatology (Lippincott 1999); Lower Extremity Soft Tissue & Cutaneous Plastic Surgery (Elsevier 2006) and, Lower Extremity Soft Tissue & Cutaneous Plastic Surgery, Second Edition, (Elsevier 2012). He has also authored numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and other publications.
Dr. Dockery is the team leader for the Seattle Medical Team, composed of two surgeons and two residents, for the Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project, which goes to the Yucatan twice a year to work with the surgeons and staff from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and the Orthopedic Red Cross Hospital in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.
Dr. Dockery is a nationally and internationally known lecturer and continues to travel extensively throughout the world more than 20 times per year to scientific seminars to present his diagnostic and surgical techniques, teach plastic surgery techniques in workshops, and speak on medical topics regarding the lower extremities.
